There are several ways that YOU can make a difference in the lives of others through the MOM Project.
Transporting our rental kits and teaching parents how to use the pumps is our biggest volunteer commitment.
By delivering the kit to the family we eliminate the transportation barrier, ensuring our program is accessible to all who need it.
We provide thorough training to our volunteers on how to use the pump, and the resources available to mothers if they have issues or concerns about their milk supply or breast feeding. Volunteers do not provide medical advice or provide assistance with the use of the pumps.
No experience breastfeeding or pumping is required!
Do you knit or crochet? Do you have spare time to make some baby blankets?
The gifted baby blanket is the "heart" of our program, and brings so much joy, peace and and calm to the families receiving it. Each blanket is blessed before being given to families. We accept any blankets that are new, handmade and machine washable.
The MOM Project does have some wool available for those who cannot afford to donate their time and cost of wool.
We have worked hard to be financially sustainable, but our growth is limited by available funding.
Because The MOM Project is organised and run by volunteers, 100% of every dollar goes directly to helping families. With the financial support of grants and private donors, we can expand to serve every hospital in Calgary and beyond!
Before reaching out to other hospitals we need to purchase more pumps, accessories and supplies for the kits to provide adequate service to the families that need it.
The Ohana Support Foundation is a non-profit, but is not yet a registered charity in Canada and we are unable to issue tax receipts at this time.
